D & G Stayed Home, Again!

Yup, it's the end of an era. Duckie and Giraffe were forgotten at home yesterday and shara didn't notice until bedtime. She was fine with it but a little surprised. Today they remained home again and it wasn't even discussed. They aren't going into the attic, of course, but, as the song goes, they don't get around much anymore!

Shara continues to pick up new tasks around the house. She got dressed and moving early today, so helped cut up strawberries for the strawberry rhubarb pie and also got her snack for school. Pretty cool stuff going on!

Nursery visit

After work today we all took a trip back to sharas school to view the new quail chick, "tweety bird". It was so cute. I can understand why shara's been going on about it. Her teacher had the kids write out birth announcments and the invitation to the viewing. It was very sweet.

Shara's continuing to enjoy doing chores and last weekend we all had our lists of tasks. Shara can add brushing the cats, sweeping the kitchen floor, hanging up her laundry, and emptying the dishwasher. We all need to be better about putting away our stuff. When you're done, just put it back. Rule to live by. Sounds like a lot for her but she can do it and it makes her feel good. I just have to remember to write it down for her.

Last saturday shara and I went to the ballet. Neither of us loved the first piece, but shara was so bored with it she wanted to leave and started making a stink. We worked it out and stayed for the rest and were both very happy we did. After we walked to fanuille hall for dinner, dessert and fun. We even got daddy a harley beer cosie.

Mothers day

A great day for us mothers and others at jill's. We had a very nice time putting together brunch and working with and around each other. Shara helped set the table and do other assorted tasks but her favorite part, as usual, was playing with samantha. On the way home she said she missed her already. She had a great time with her family and really understand how hard it is to be so far away. She misses them all and though it doesn't look to me as if she is enjoying her time with them, she is. She wouldn't talk of missing them and look forward to seeing them so much if she didn't.

Shara and alan had a chance to go down to see the nine week old pigs. They're 25lbs and really cute. The chickens were also running around. Shara can't wait to go back to the farm this summer!

World record

Tonight I was watching a movie downstairs, alan went to bed early, and I'm hearing noises from shara's room. I try to ignore it because either shes dreaming or being quiet in her room. At about 10 pm, I hear her come out of her room. Nothing wrong, she just wanted to share with me what she had been up to for the past 2 hours. Well, she was busy playing school. She was going to have several kids in her class in a dance and she had written down all the names of the kids and the choreography. Quite impressive. We then cuddled a bit, trying to get relaxed, but she really wanted to sleep in our room. She said she was having megamind thoughts again.
I thought she would have been remembering some of the outlandish looks from this afternoons visit to waltham and the steampunk festival. But she said that wasn't it. We think maybe the c coffee frozen yogurt with hot fudge. Or she could have been so excited from being able to spend time with her cousin lizzy and for tomorrow visit with more family. I told her she should bring her notes to share with everyone tomorrow.

Sheep Pasture Field Trip
